Why do a lot of people think that its rude to say ‘fat person’ or ‘old person’ etc?

Question by : Why do a lot of people think that its rude to say ‘fat person’ or ‘old person’ etc?
I even have that in my description on this forum:

But it is what it is! If you’re old, you’re old. if you’re fat, you’re fat. skinny, you’re skinny. etc!

There’s no reason to point it out. They want their master status to be “person,” not “fat” or “old.” I mean, if you’re trying to describe them, that’s one thing. However, if you’re just referring to them, the reference to their weight/age isn’t necessary.
